Ukrainian Women Share War Experiences in New Book Presentation

A new book detailing the experiences of Ukrainian women during the period of conflict from 2014 to 2022 has been published. Titled “Hoolimata kõigest elada. Naiste jutustused sõjast 2014–2022,” the book features accounts from eleven Ukrainian women representing diverse regions and backgrounds.

The project aims to document the traumatic experiences endured by these women during this timeframe. The book collects firsthand narratives detailing their lives amidst the ongoing war. Tetiana Tovstokora, Director of Ukrainian Schools, is a contributor to the publication.

The book’s release marks a significant effort to preserve and share these personal stories. A presentation of the book will be held on Friday at the Toomel Johan Skytte Institute of Political Studies in Tartu. The event will offer an opportunity to learn more about the experiences of these Ukrainian women and the impact of the conflict on their lives.

The publication seeks to provide a comprehensive understanding of the human cost of the war and to honor the resilience of those affected.
