Tallinna Linnatranspord (TLT) is set to expand its fleet with the integration of 30 new natural gas-powered city buses. The procurement, which totaled €36,815,519.41, involved the purchase of various types of buses designed to operate on alternative fuels. The order included 19 standard-length (12-meter) articulated buses capable of running on CNG/CBM fuel. Additionally, the acquisition covered 10 extended-length (18-meter) articulated buses, also utilizing CNG/CBM technology. These new additions represent a significant update to the city’s public transportation infrastructure. The introduction of these natural gas-powered bussi units aims to enhance both the capacity and the environmental profile of the bus network. The fleet diversification incorporates buses that can run on Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) or bio-methane (CBM), providing operational flexibility. The combination of standard and extended models ensures that TLT can accommodate varying passenger loads across different routes. The integration of these modern, low-emission bussi vehicles supports the city’s sustainability goals by reducing reliance on traditional fossil fuels within the urban transport system. This expansion solidifies the commitment to modernizing public transit through the adoption of cleaner fuel sources like CNG and CBM.
