Uulu Coop is establishing a new retail presence on the site of a former yacht shipyard. Construction on the Uulu Coop store began in December, with the building structure reportedly nearing completion as of May. The real estate transaction involves the Kilingi-Nõmme economic cooperative.

Last year, the cooperative acquired the property located at Soometsa tee 9. This purchase included the substantial structure that once housed the production facilities for yachts at the Polar Shipyard. The original yacht construction enterprise, which occupied the premises, is currently in the process of liquidation.

This development marks a significant commercial shift for the area. The establishment of the new Uulu Coop store suggests a revitalization of the commercial activity in the vicinity, utilizing the space vacated by the former industrial operations.
