Preparations for extensive archaeological research are ongoing within the central park of Tartu’s old town, specifically at the Siuru site, which is slated to become a future cultural center. The scope of the work involves significant excavation efforts across the area. The initial phase of the arheoloogiliste uuringute commenced on April 14th. This preparatory work required the removal of a substantial number of trees that previously obstructed access to the primary excavation zone within the keskpargis. The physical excavation process is proceeding in stages. Initially, the uppermost layer covering the study area, estimated to be approximately two meters thick, is being removed using heavy machinery. Following this mechanized clearance, the remaining strata, also measured at roughly two meters in depth, are being meticulously excavated by archaeologists using manual techniques. The physical work commenced with the digging of a test pit on Monday morning. These layered removal processes are crucial for understanding the historical development of the site Topics: #arheoloogiliste #keskpargis #uuringute Post navigation TÄIENDATUD⟩Evelin Võigemast ei tööta enam Linnateatris ENNE JA PÄRAST⟩Muutub ajas nooremaks?
