Jaspar Vaher, 18, is making his debut in gravel rallying this season as part of the Toyota WRC team’s youth program. He is currently leading the Rally Terras d’Aboboreira, the opening stage of the Portuguese championship, piloting a Toyota Yaris Rally2. The event marks Vaher’s first competitive outing in a gravel rally and his official involvement with the Toyota Gazoo Racing team.

In the initial time trial, calculated according to the rally calendar, Vaher established a significant lead, overtaking his nearest competitor by 16.9 seconds. The first stage, known as Amarante, was also utilized as part of the Portuguese World Championship rally, providing a familiar course for the young driver. This performance highlights Vaher’s early potential within the Toyota program and his immediate success in the challenging gravel terrain.
