A significant rescue operation was conducted yesterday in the area situated between Sillamäe and Sinimäe. The effort aimed to locate piglets that were trapped beneath a vehicle following a traffic accident. The piglets had been left isolated and vulnerable after the incident.

The accident occurred yesterday at the 191-kilometer mark of the Tallinn–Narva road, resulting in the death of a lactating sow. The sow’s family, overseen by Ksenia Klotškova, includes six piglets. Following the accident, the piglets were found separated from their mother.

While the sow was unable to care for her young, the recovery efforts were launched to ensure the piglets received immediate attention. The sow, whose care was provided, is expected to bring the piglets to a rehabilitation center later today. The rescue operation highlights the critical care required for young animals following sudden trauma.

Authorities and animal welfare groups mobilized resources to manage the situation, focusing on reuniting the vulnerable young pigs with necessary support. The efforts underscore the community response to animal welfare incidents in the region.
