A. Le Coq Receives Approval to Acquire Värska Originaal The Competition Authority of Estonia granted approval on Thursday for A. Le Coq, a leading Estonian beverage producer, to complete its acquisition of a controlling interest in AS Värska Originaal, the producer of natural mineral water Värska Originaal. The purchase-sale agreement, initially signed on September 15th of last year, outlined A. Le Coq’s intention to acquire 100 percent of the shares in the company. AS Värska Originaal is the producer of the well-known natural mineral water sourced from the Värska spring. Production operations will continue to be based in Värska. A key stipulation of the acquisition is that the unique conditions required for the production of the mineral water – namely, the spring itself – remain unchanged. This transaction represents a significant move for A. Le Coq, bolstering its portfolio of Estonian brands. The company’s strategy involves expanding its presence within the beverage market. Following the approval, A. Le Coq now has full authority to finalize the acquisition and integrate Värska Originaal into its operations. The move solidifies the future of this established Estonian brand.
