The annual street season of rohejaht, Estonia’s largest youth environmental program, concluded with record results. The initiative saw participation from 17,902 students, young people, and educators across Estonia, representing a 16% increase compared to the previous year. In addition to the high level of participation, the program achieved significant material recovery milestones.

Organizers successfully collected 1.5 miljonit aluminum cans, weighing 1864 kg. Furthermore, thousands of unused electronic devices were collected and reintroduced into circulation (ringlusse). The successful conclusion highlights the community’s commitment to environmental stewardship through the youth program.

The collected materials underscore the collective effort to promote recycling and sustainable habits among young participants nationwide. The event’s success demonstrates the growing engagement of Estonian youth in environmental action. The figures gathered—from aluminum cans to electronics—underscore the tangible impact of the rohejaht movement.

The initiative continues to serve as a major platform for public education regarding resource management and waste reduction, cementing its role in national environmental awareness efforts.
