Viljandi Offers Diverse Cultural Events This Wednesday, September 14th

A series of exhibitions and performances are scheduled for Wednesday, September 14th, in Viljandi. The day’s events begin at the Viljandi city stadium at 3 PM with a scene from the film “Kukerpillide rapsoodia.” At 4 PM, the Viljandi county athletics MVP and the Viljandi county library are featured. The Eesti handball championships will take place at 7 PM, specifically with Viljandi HC versus HC Kehra HP&P, followed by a performance at the Ugala theatre at 9 PM.

Throughout the day, various exhibitions will be open to the public. These include “Kirsiaed” at 1 PM, “After. Long and happily” at 2 PM, “DC Superheroes League” at 3 PM, “Apteeker Melchior.

Visions” at 4 PM, “Orb: the first victim” at 4:40 PM, and “Kukerpillide rapsoodia” at 6 PM. An Aki Kaurismäki retrospective will also be presented, featuring “Juha” at 6:20 PM, “Pilet paradiisi” at 7 PM, “Kuuvalge” at 8 PM, and “Kukerpillide rapsoodia” again at 9 PM. “DC Superheroes League” will be shown at 10 PM, and “Pantaloonid ja teised kaaslased” will be presented at 11 PM.

Additionally, exhibitions are taking place at the Sakala centre in Viljandi until September 16th, the Tallinn street 22 location, and the Viljandi art school art circle annual exhibition “Loomekillud” at Tallinn street 5. The kindergarten Krõllipesa is celebrating its fifth anniversary with an exhibition, alongside visual wordplay by Daukantė Subačiūtė and drawings by Edmunds Jaudzems. Permanent artwork by Viljandi county school teacher Paul Kondase, from the Viljandi museum collection, is displayed at Long street 8.

The Viljandi museum will host Edith Karlson’s sculptures until September 24th, and the cultural academy’s heritage technology study programme students’ practical part exhibition “Pärand haagib” will be open at Laidoneri square 10, featuring the Viljandi old water tower until September 30th. Daniil Bessedini’s “Mirrors of memories” and Aate-Heli Õuna’s “Colorful drawings” are also on display at Pärnu street 39.
