Dr. Lea Jantra, a long-time doctor at Kuressaare Hospital, passed away on October 12, 2023. Born in Pärnu on March 15, 1939, Dr. Jantra was a dedicated and highly skilled professional. She was born to a Jewish family; her father was arrested shortly after work in 1960 and was never seen again. Dr. Jantra earned her medical degree from Tartu State University in 1958, completing her studies there until 1964. Following graduation, she served as an obstetrician-gynecologist at the Kingissepa District Hospital from August 1, 1964, to December 31, 1997. She subsequently worked at the Kuressaare Family Medicine Center. We extend our deepest sympathy to Dr. Jantra’s family. We remember Dr. Jantra.
