Tartu Residents Question Purpose of Log Destruction at Upcoming Farm Show Preparations are underway for the 2026 Tartu Farm Show, scheduled to take place at the Tartu Exhibition Center from April 23rd to 25th. The event, which began its preparations in early April, features wood production demonstrations and aims to highlight local agricultural practices. However, the method of preparing the demonstration area has raised questions among some residents. Images circulating of large logs being smashed with machinery in front of the center have prompted concern. A local resident contacted by Elu24 expressed bewilderment, stating, “It is a Farm Show, but this way we waste good trees.” The communication manager for the Farm Show clarified that the activity is part of a wood production display designed to establish grassy areas for the event. “After the Farm Show, all the wood will be reused,” the manager confirmed. The event is intended to showcase local wood production and its contribution to maintaining the exhibition grounds. Organizers anticipate a significant turnout and are focused on delivering an informative and engaging experience for attendees at the Tartu Exhibition center.
