The incident occurred near the village of Auvere, part of Narva, when a vehicle carrying four men entered the canal and subsequently came to rest on a roof. Two individuals exited the car independently, while two others remained inside. Both of the individuals who remained in the car perished as a result of the accident. Rescuers from Narva responded to the scene and extracted the two survivors, initiating resuscitation efforts. Paramedics arrived and continued resuscitation, but were unable to revive the other two individuals.
