Tormis Laine experienced a challenging performance at the World Cup big slalom event in Kranjska Gora, Slovenia. The Estonian skier, Tormis Laine, reported a significant downturn in her performance following a crash during the competition. Laine stated she felt “completely empty in every way” after the event.

During the competition, Laine utilized skis with a stronger metal plate intended for increased stability. However, she found herself needing to apply considerable force during turns, particularly in the middle section of the course. “The upper part of the slope was fine, but in the middle I didn’t have enough strength,” she explained.

The incident occurred when she “skied with her boots in the hole and her skis went out,” ultimately preventing her from passing the next gate. Despite a strong final sector time, she was unable to complete the run. Following the race, Laine expressed feeling “completely empty: mentally and physically.” She plans to compete in the last season’s slalom event before participating in a few Continental Cup events.

“I don’t plan to do much skiing,” she said. “I’ve skied so much this season that I can’t really take anything out of it. I’m going to go even deeper into the lock with too much training.”
