The well-known operator Tele2 continued to lose Estonian mobile numbers in September, according to data released by the Department of Consumer Protection and Technical Supervision. A total of 505 numbers were removed from the network during the month, BNS reported. Telia Eesti held the second-highest number of departures with 417 numbers, while Elisa received 80 numbers.

Overall, 6,795 mobile numbers were transferred from mobile networks in Estonia during September, alongside 870 fixed connections being rejected. Additionally, 6,252 requests for mobile number transfers and 85 for fixed number transfers were rejected. Over the past nine months, Tele2 experienced the largest number of mobile number losses, with 4,622 numbers departing its network.

Elisa added the most numbers, totaling 2,985. Telia acquired 2,306 numbers since the beginning of the year. Data from the past year reveals that Tele2 lost 5,707 numbers in 2022, while Elisa gained 6,217 mobile numbers.

Telia removed 524 numbers from its network in 2022. These numbers reflect the movement of mobile and fixed phone numbers between operators. The statistics do not directly correlate with subscriber additions or reductions, as a single subscriber can hold multiple numbers under different contracts.

The number transfer data also does not account for changes in customer numbers due to the use of prepaid phones or modifications to existing subscription agreements.
