Aino, now 85, is recounting her experience surviving the sinking of the motor ship “Ruhnu” in 1968. The incident occurred on October 4, 1968, when the ship sank off the eastern coast of Saaremaa, approximately three kilometers from the shore. Aino was 30 years old at the time and awaiting the arrival of her first child. The voyage, intended to be a short cargo trip from Tallinn to Kingisseppa, resulted in the entire crew surviving the shipwreck.
