The Elering transmission system operator has requested a state environmental impact assessment from the Ministry of Regional Affairs and Agriculture. The assessment will examine the feasibility of constructing a portion of the fourth electricity connection between Estonia and Latvia. This connection will originate in Pape and traverse Saaremaa and the Sõrve Peninsula.
