The Jõhvi village monument will be unveiled on October 14th following a restoration project. The monument was originally a red monument, built upon a previously existing foundation. “The need for the restoration of red monuments with doubtful value became a reason for the decision,” said Enno Must, the CEO of Jõhvi Mõis OÜ. “We thought, well, a good foundation, the stone is strong too, let’s put a new design on it. This is recycling,” added Georgi Särekanno, a former history teacher. The sculpture, which was transformed from a red monument into a village monument, will be open to the public in Jõhvi.
