The Kambja County Council held a vote of no confidence against deputy mayor Triin Nõmmistu yesterday. The vote failed. The motion was prompted by accusations of incompetent management and execution of the county’s street lighting project, initiated by opposition representatives. Concerns centered on alleged violations of the procurement procedure and actions taken in a personal capacity by the deputy mayor. Tarmo Kleimann, a member of the business association and chairman of the municipality’s economic committee, voiced these criticisms, stating that Nõmmistu had violated the public procurement process and acted in his own self-interest.
