The Neighbourhood Watch Agreement was signed on Thursday at the Tapa County Office, involving Marek Väljari, Activity Manager of the Estonian Neighbourhood Watch, Valdo Helmelaid, Mayor of Tapa, Silja Vilbu, a resident of the Naistevälja village, and Tauno Lempu and Anni Kruuse, police officers. The agreement follows recent security concerns in the Naistevälja village. According to resident Silja Vilbu, the village has experienced burglaries and one shooting incident, prompting the community to establish a Neighbourhood Watch. “That’s when the idea came to do something. We contacted the Estonian Neighbourhood Watch,” Vilbu stated.
