The National Audit Office: last year the state spent 588 million euros less on European subsidies

The construction of the Viljandi hospital, which has stopped in the summer, is being preserved pending the outcome of a public procurement process and the resolution of funding questions. The state is increasingly facing limitations in utilizing European subsidies. According to a report published today by the state audit, the state spent 61 percent of its budget last year utilizing European subsidies.

In the first half of this year, only one fifth of the planned amount was spent, and approximately 1.2 billion euros in foreign subsidies are awaiting allocation in the second half of the year.
