Kristel Kõiv, a 31-year-old mother of three, achieved her fastest marathon times since the beginning of the summer, unaware that she was experiencing a serious health issue. Following an unexpected diagnosis of breast cancer, she faced difficult choices. Now, after completing chemotherapy and undergoing major surgery, she is preparing to run a marathon in May.

Kõiv’s story began approximately a year and a half prior to the diagnosis. She discovered a piece of breast tissue and promptly sought a medical examination. Initial tests indicated it was benign glandular tissue.

However, when a new piece of tissue appeared last summer, she pursued further investigation.
