Photo: Toomas Huik Last year, the Botnica, previously operating in the Sillamäe area, concluded its work for the season. The multipurpose icebreaker was taken under the operational control of the Estonian state-owned company, TS Shipping. On Monday evening, at approximately 21:00, the Botnica arrived at the Muuga port, marking the end of its operational period. Throughout the season, the icebreaker provided support to various vessels navigating the Baltic Sea. The Botnica’s primary role involved assisting ships in the Kunda and Sillamäe ports, facilitating safe passage through potential ice conditions. This operation highlighted the continued importance of specialized maritime support within Estonia’s port infrastructure. Following its work in Sillamäe, the icebreaker returned to TS Shipping’s control and completed its final journey to Muuga. Further details regarding the Botnica’s performance and operational statistics will be released following a full season review.
