Aston Martin ends Mercedes’ 25-year Formula 1 reign. Aston Martin Vantage and a Mercedes safety car are featured in the 2021 Formula 1 season. The team formerly known as Racing Point has rebranded as Aston Martin, fielding four-time world champion Sebastian Vettel and Lance Stroll. This marks the return of the Aston Martin name to the formula after more than 60 years of absence. Bernd Mayländer, a Formula 1 legend, and Alan van der Merwe, the medical car driver, also compete with British cars this year. The 2021 season marks the first time the Formula 1 series has utilized two official safety cars. The Mercedes safety car, a four-liter V8 engine vehicle, accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in 3.5 seconds. The Aston Martin medical car, a DBX, reaches 100 km/h in 4.5 seconds.
