The Estonian Army is planning to expand the Nursipalu training area with four new firing ranges. The expansion is intended to accommodate increased training volume and the introduction of new weapons systems. The project will allow for firing from the polygon in the future, including the HIMARS multiple rocket launcher, and the dropping of markers from an aircraft. The expansion is expected to increase the number of days with high noise levels by a quarter and also elevate the overall noise level. The Nursipalu training area will be significantly enhanced as a result of this development.
