Latvia and Lithuania are reporting daily coronavirus numbers approaching a thousand. In Latvia, 921 new coronavirus cases were registered on Friday, September 9, 2022, according to the Center for Disease Prevention and Control. One Covid-19 patient died. A total of 3,892 tests were conducted on Wednesday, with 905,904 confirmed coronavirus infections and 5,957 deaths recorded in Latvia. The 14-day incidence rate per 100,000 people is 554. In Lithuania, 935 new coronavirus cases were registered on Friday. The statistics office reported that 712 people were infected for the first time, 206 were infected the second time, and one person was infected the third time. There are currently 97 Covid-19 patients hospitalized, with nine in intensive care. Both Latvia and Lithuania continue to experience elevated coronavirus case numbers.
