Kerr Kriisa Announces Departure from Arizona University

Kerr Kriisa, the basketball team’s starting point guard, has announced his intention to transfer from Arizona University following three seasons with the program. Kriisa’s season was marked by significant achievements alongside notable challenges. He earned the title of the best scorer in the Pac-12 conference for a second consecutive season, averaging 9.9 points, 2.4 rebounds, and 5.1 assists per game.

He also became the second player in Arizona history to score 80 or more three-pointers in two consecutive seasons. However, Kriisa’s performance declined significantly in the final four games of the season, averaging 3.8 points, 1.5 rebounds, and 3.3 assists. An injury sustained during the Pac-12 conference quarterfinals contributed to this downturn.

Throughout the season, Kriisa’s role within the Arizona program was a subject of considerable debate among fans, who expressed differing opinions on whether he should prioritize scoring or serve as the primary point guard. The season concluded with a disappointing loss to Princeton in the NCAA semifinal round, resulting in Arizona’s exit. Kriisa played 36 minutes in that game, scoring only three points.

Rumors suggest Kriisa will pursue an NCAA player transfer. The Arizona Desert Swarm portal indicates that Xavier University, under the direction of head coach Sean Miller – who recruited Kriisa to Arizona – is a potential destination. Miller was previously involved in a corruption scandal but received a pass from the NCAA.
