Major Erkki Karu assumed the duties of Commander of the Alutaguse Battalion of the Defence League during a flag-over ceremony held today in Jõhvi. The transfer of command occurred as Colonel Jaanus Ainsalu transitioned out of the role. Ainsalu will continue to serve as Commander of the Northern Defence District and Commander of the Viru Battalion.
