New Restroom Building Improves Conditions for Tartu Bus Drivers

Tartu city line bus drivers have long expressed concerns regarding basic amenities at various end stops within the city. Recurring issues included a lack of restrooms, inadequate resting areas, limited access to food, and insufficient shelter from inclement weather. Responding to these concerns, the Tartu city government recently completed the construction and handover of a new building at the Nõlvaku end stop, located at the Annelynas terminus.

The facility now includes a standard restroom alongside a dedicated space for bus drivers. Sirle Prangel, the service manager for the Tartu Go bus line, was present at the official opening. The new building addresses a longstanding need for improved working conditions for the city’s bus drivers.

The project, completed at the end of March, represents a significant investment by the city in supporting its transportation workforce. The restroom and driver-specific space provide essential facilities for bus drivers operating within the city’s extensive network. This development aims to enhance the comfort and practicality for those providing vital public transport services.
