Hedi-Liis Toome, a doctoral candidate in theatre studies and lecturer at Tartu University, has been a consistent presence at the Draama festival since 2003. Toome, whose role includes directing the Draama theatre, was present on Tuesday at the festival’s opening, climbing to the red table in the park to deliver remarks alongside other speakers. Initially involved as a student in her second year, Toome began her involvement with the festival as a volunteer, undertaking various tasks.
