On September 8, 2022, the popular Ukrainian group Okean Elzy will perform in Tallinn’s Saku Suurhall with an anticipated audience of approximately 3,000 guests. On Thursday morning, the band’s lead singer, Sviatoslav Vakarchuk, accompanied by former Estonian President Kersti Kaljulaid, took part in a jog that began at the Radisson Collection hotel in Tallinn. Limon Photo and Video captured the event with photo and video documentation.

Victoria Solomonchuk of Limon interviewed Vakarchuk and Kaljulaid. Vakarchuk stated he had visited Estonia four or five times, most recently approximately four years prior, typically coinciding with concerts. He expressed admiration for Tallinn, noting its resemblance to his hometown of Lviv and appreciating the friendly atmosphere and authentic Old Town.

Vakarchuk highlighted Estonia’s active support for Ukraine, expressing immense gratitude. He observed that Estonia and other Baltic countries are leading in this support, potentially due to shared experiences. He also recounted meeting a Ukrainian refugee in his hotel, further emphasizing the importance of this connection.

“I’ll be singing in Estonian today! It will be very difficult, but I’ll do everything I can to make it look decent,” Vakarchuk commented. Kaljulaid indicated her plans to travel to Kyiv to meet with the Minister of Defense and Minister of Foreign Affairs.

She noted that the Minister of Foreign Affairs had recently been in a plaster cast and therefore unable to participate in activities such as jogging. The event was documented with photo and video.
