Electricity exchange prices within the Nord Pool Eesti area experienced a significant decrease on Friday, September 27, 2022, falling by 8.9% to 270.60 euros per megawatt-hour at 15:15. The highest recorded price for the period was 449.94 euros per megawatt-hour between 20:00 and 21:00. Conversely, the lowest price occurred overnight until Saturday at midnight, reaching 82.09 euros per megawatt-hour.

Across neighboring countries, electricity prices varied. In Latvia, the price was 290.96 euros, representing a 7.5% increase compared to Estonia. Lithuania recorded a price of 291.08 euros, a 7.6% increase over Estonia.

Electricity costs in Finland were equivalent to those in Estonia. Austria’s electricity price reached 362.60 euros per megawatt-hour on Friday. The Nord Pool Eesti area’s electricity exchange price for the year’s August average was 361.35 euros per megawatt-hour, more than four times higher than the 87.03 euros per megawatt-hour recorded in the previous year.

July saw a price increase of over 54.9%, and August’s final day recorded an average price of 682.05 euros, a 36.2% increase from the previous record of 500.61 euros set on August 8th. The previous record price was established on December 7th of the prior year, reaching 469.03 euros per megawatt-hour.
