Sebastien Ogier’s confidence is growing with each rally stage, despite participating in only three events with teammate Vincent Landais. The pair, aiming for a victory in Mexico, secured two stage wins in the initial two rallies of the season. “Even though we are always on the podium when we are racing, we never kept a secret that our goal was to win in Mexico,” stated Ogier to Autohebdo.

“If you only race a few rallies in a season, you can’t have any other ambitions. Our task was to bring home that victory, because in hot Mexico, a lot can happen. Luckily, we were able to avoid problems.”

Landais first encountered ogier’s legend during the 2022 Japan Rally, where he finished fourth.

This year’s results represent a significant step forward, with wins in two rallies. “I appreciate this victory even more than the one in Monte Carlo,” Landais commented. “Winning in Monaco was crazy, because it was my first triumph in the WRC series.

But this victory didn’t come to me immediately. Now I didn’t have any worries. I could enjoy the victory before I got home.

It’s a bit dangerous because we want to establish ourselves in Croatia again. We have to keep our feet on the ground.”

The partnership between the two drivers is evolving, with Landais noting, “It gets better and better. I feel that we are moving forward with big steps.

After Monte Carlo, I introduced changes and they worked immediately. I have always said that I try to learn from him and grow. It’s incredible how different I feel after three rallies.” The team’s card reader technology continues to be a key component of their strategy.
