Lung cancer is the second most common cancer globally, following prostate cancer in men and breast cancer in women. In Estonia, over 800 new cases of lung cancer are diagnosed annually. Last year, 3,700 individuals participated in the initial screening program facilitated by family doctors, and 20 were subsequently referred for treatment, several of whom were asymptomatic.
