NOËP released the Tartu 2024 logo on Friday. The design, titled “Young Blood City,” reflects the youthful energy associated with the city. NOËP, represented by Andres Kõpper, will perform their latest single on October 19th as part of the opening of the European Capital of Culture program, marking the city’s title for the duration of the year. Kõpper collaborated with internationally renowned producer Clifford Goiloga, who previously produced NOËP’s hit song “Young Boy.” “We initially avoided using the word ‘young,’ but ‘Young Blood City’ so accurately described Tartu that we decided to adopt it,” Kõpper stated. “I am pleased to have contributed the anthem for Tartu 2024, a challenging and rewarding task, and I hope the people of Tartu will appreciate it.” The song blends electronic pop music with Seto leelo, returning to NOËP’s indie pop origins. It expresses gratitude for Southern Estonia’s heritage and is dedicated to both Tartu and the region. “Tartu is a small city, but it has a significant global presence,” noted Tartu 2024 producer Kati Tihkan. NOËP will perform the anthem 100 days before the opening ceremony of the cultural capital, scheduled for October 19th at the Aparaaditehas. The performance will feature a “Sada ööd ja päeva Ellujäämise Kunstideni” show, alongside performances by Alika Milova, Mari Kalkun, Maris Pihlap, extreme athletes, acrobats, and dancers.
