Jaan Spiegel, a resident of Kadrina, supplements his retirement with regular photo trips to the Northern Estonian coast. The opportunity to observe and attempt to catch birds in the water is one he consistently accepts. A recent photo captures Jaan Spiegel engaged in this activity.

The migration of shorebirds is currently underway, beginning in August during the height of summer in Estonia. Biologist Rein Kuresoo documented the phenomenon, noting that the migration was initiated in the Arctic where temperatures remain cold and snowfall is still occurring. These birds, originating from polar regions, migrate to wintering grounds located far to the south, including areas near the equator.
