Anderson Silva, the former UFC middleweight champion, has expressed criticism of the organization. The 47-year-old Brazilian fighter signed with the ufc in 2006 and achieved significant success, including ten middleweight championship defenses and a reign of 2457 days. Speaking to Sportnaut, Silva stated, “The problem with free-fighting and especially with the ufc is that they do not respect the legacy of the fighters.

They drain you dry and then throw you away.” He alleged that the ufc attempts to end a fighter’s career upon their departure, preventing them from competing elsewhere. Silva noted that while he experienced both positive and negative periods with the ufc, he maintained control during his fights. “Outside the cage, I did not have control,” he added.

Silva’s last ufc fight was in 2020, a technical knockout loss to Uriah Hall, following which he posted a social media message suggesting a potential end to his career. He has not formally retired.

  1. “It’s disheartening to hear a legend like Anderson Silva feel so undervalued after his incredible career.”
