Minister of Defence Hanno Pevkur undertook a working visit to Lääne-Virumaa on July 26, 2022. The visit included inspections of defence forces facilities in Läsna and Tapa. Hanno Pevkur began the day at the Läsna barracks of the 1st Infantry Brigade, where he met with Deputy Chief of Defence, Generalmajor Veiko-Vello Palmi, and Elari Kalmaru, the head of the State Defence Investment Centre’s exercise grounds portfolio. Kalmaru presented information regarding the potential utilization of the barracks and future exercise grounds, alongside an overview of other available sites.
