Estonian Author Kristi Jaanus to Present New Children’s Novel

Kristi Jaanus, an Estonian author, will be presenting her latest children’s novel, “Emily and Kätlyn or Rainy Friday,” at a public event on April 2nd. The presentation will take place at the Maarja-Magdaleena folk house. The novel recounts the summer vacation experiences of a group of friends set against the backdrop of a quiet village with a predictable rhythm.

A significant event occurs on a particular Friday evening when the friends attend a local party. This single evening profoundly impacts the lives of the central characters, Emily and Kätlyn. “Emily and Kätlyn or Rainy Friday” explores themes of friendship and the unexpected consequences of seemingly ordinary moments.

Kristi Jaanus received a medal from the President in February of this year in recognition of her literary contributions.
