Johannes Klæbo Falls in Drammen, Estonian Marko Kilp Misses Qualification

Drammen, Norway – Norwegian ski star Johannes Høsflot Klæbo sustained a head injury after a fall during today’s World Cup classic sprint stage held in Drammen. The incident occurred during the qualification round of the event. Klæbo, the current leader in the MK-sarja (Norwegian Cup), finished 61st with a time of 42.13 seconds, ultimately losing to the fastest Norwegian, who clocked in at 31.45 seconds.

The significant difference of 10.68 seconds highlighted Klæbo’s initial difficulty. Meanwhile, the best-placed Estonian competitor was Marko Kilp, who secured 61st place. However, Kilp ultimately failed to advance to the qualification cutoff, finishing 3.56 seconds behind Klæbo.

The qualification round saw a strong showing from the Norwegian team, with several athletes securing top positions. The Estonian team, led by Kilp, faced a challenging competition. Following the incident, Johannes Klæbo received immediate medical attention and was evaluated for a concussion.

The race continued without him. The outcome underscored a competitive day for both Norwegian and Estonian skiers.
