Jaak Madison, a European Parliament deputy, has joined the European Parliament Disability Support Group. The Disability Support Group has been a key component of previous European Parliament committees, focusing on the promotion and protection of the rights of people with disabilities. Madison’s involvement stems from a personal connection, having been involved with individuals with disabilities since his youth, including his brother who sustained a paralyzing injury following a childhood accident.

“It is necessary to stand up for the rights of people with disabilities in the European Parliament, because Brussels decisions will sooner or later become law in the member states,” said Madison. “I am confident that, in cooperation with the Estonian organizations representing people with disabilities, we will be able to protect the interests of the most vulnerable people.”
