Marko Kilp and Teiloora Ojaste secured victories at the 48th Haanja marathon, held on March 7th, 2026. The event, a standard 42-kilometer course, attracted 517 skiers, including 343 competing in the marathon distance and 130 in the half marathon. A children’s skiing race with 44 participants was also held.

Marko Kilp praised the organizers’ efforts, stating, “Thanks to the organizers! Hard work was done and I think that those who come next year will also be able to enjoy their skiing!” Kilp attributed the course’s improved conditions to recent road repairs. He noted that the stronger competitors would likely prevail.

Following his win, Kilp was followed by Albert Unn and Robert Sarapuu. Raido Ränkel ultimately claimed the Estoloppet overall victory. “Here is the fat from skiing with the Estonian boys again.

It is a victory for us. It is a victory for the boys, too. It is a victory for the country,” Ränkel commented.

He also expressed appreciation for the Viru marathon and other Estonian races. In the women’s race, Teiloora Ojaste emerged as the victor, who had previously competed in the Olympic Games. “I felt very good.

The course was fine, the weather was nice, the people were on the course. It was very nice! The skis were very good and I think that the Haanja course is more suitable for me!

Here there are rises, downhills, bends – everything is right,” Ojaste stated, ahead of Merilin Jürisaar and Susan Sarapu.
