♪ Listen 0:00 The Tallinn City Council announced the commencement of inner-city road repair work in the Mustamäe district on Wednesday. According to the press service, restorative repair is already underway in half of the city’s districts, with this project now focusing on several locations within Mustamäe. This year, approximately 60 objects throughout the city will be addressed as part of the annual inner-city road repair program. Vice-Mayor Vladimir Svet stated that large-scale road construction in the Mustamäe district began earlier this summer, encompassing restorative repair in TAMMSAARE-TEE, VILDE-TEE and SYPRUUS-PST, alongside ongoing repair work on the city’s inner roads. Over the past five years, the quality of roads in Mustamäe has improved significantly, though continued maintenance is necessary. Initial work will target the pedestrian walkway near TAMMSAARE-TEE, 23a, followed by sections between TAMMSAARE-TEE, 42 and 48, and between TAMMSAARE-TEE, 26 and 20 to TAMMSAARE-TEE, 4, as well as areas around TAMMSAARE-TEE, 38 and 32, near the “SYNIELIND” kindergarten, and along SYPUUSE-PST, 217 and 221, and TAMMSAARE-TEE, 161 and 163, in front of ECHITAATE-TEE, 84 and KULLAZEE street. The repair project includes the renewal of pavement and sidewalks, replacement of damaged kerbs, and repair of storm drains. Additionally, tree pruning and landscaping will be conducted. Watercom OÜ is contracted to carry out the work, with a total cost of 716,537 euros. The project is scheduled for completion in November. Motorists and pedestrians are advised to adhere to temporary traffic arrangements and follow posted signage.
