♪ Listen 0:00 The Kochtla-Yarve administration appointed Elina Visk as its new head of the financial service on September 6, 2022. Visk was selected from a pool of seven candidates. She began her career in the public sector in 2006 with the Tarto administration, followed by five years as a financial manager in the Konguta village administration. Since 2012, Visk has provided financial management services to the villages of Alatskivi, Konguta, and Ringu. Prior to the recent administrative reform, she managed the finances of the village of Alatskivi and the city of Kallavesi for the last two years. Mayor Toomas Nael stated that Visk possesses a master’s degree in economic accounting and finance management, alongside extensive experience as a bookkeeper and financial manager within local government. A key focus for the financial service under Visk’s leadership is the digitalization of accounting processes and the optimization of staff costs. The city authorities plan a second reading of the budget strategy and anticipate adopting an additional budget in the near future. The financial service supports the administration’s operations.
