The Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) reported Friday that approximately $3.8 trillion dollars worth of plant and livestock products have been destroyed by natural disasters and man-made catastrophes over the last thirty years. Between 1991 and 2021, the FAO estimates that $123 billion dollars annually was lost due to floods, drought, pests, storms, diseases, and war affecting food production.
