EOK to Address Kersti Kaljulaidi Dismissal at Extraordinary Meeting

The Estonian Olympic Committee (EOK) will convene an extraordinary general meeting to discuss the ongoing questions surrounding the dismissal of its President, Kersti Kaljulaidi. The meeting’s purpose is to formally address the situation and consider potential next steps. Heino Märks, a former military sports chief and a leader within multiple Estonian sports associations, initiated the call for the extraordinary meeting.

Märks successfully gathered the required number of signatures – 13 – from EOK members, fulfilling the criteria for initiating such a meeting. This requirement stipulates that one-tenth of the EOK’s membership must submit a written, motivated request. The extraordinary general meeting will provide a forum for members to voice concerns and debate the circumstances leading to Kersti Kaljulaidi’s departure from the eok leadership.

The meeting’s outcome is anticipated to shape the future direction of the Estonian Olympic Committee. Following the signature collection, comments were received (4). —
