The Ministry of the Interior has proposed an amendment to the regulation of electric shock weapons, aiming to align their usage with that of pepper spray and a telescopic staff. Currently, the possession and use of electric shock weapons are treated similarly to firearms. According to Hannes Haav, a junior lecturer at the Police and Border Guard College of the Internal Military Academy, this classification appears inconsistent.
