Estoloppet Series Concludes with Successful Haanja Marathon

The 48th Haanja marathon marked the culmination of the Estoloppet series, drawing an impressive 7,800 ski enthusiasts to the event. The marathon, held last weekend, concluded a winter season that provided ample opportunity for the popular Estoloppet competitions to proceed as planned. Currently, the 52nd Tartu marathon is being offered in a virtual format, with organizers anticipating approximately 800 participants.

Kunnar Karu, the leader of the Estoloppet skiing series, expressed satisfaction with the overall winter conditions, noting the sufficient snowfall and cold temperatures that enabled all Estoloppet marathons to occur. “It’s already something to be proud of in today’s weather conditions,” Karu stated, praising the enthusiasm of the marathon organizers and highlighting the addition of several new events to the program. He emphasized the series’ continued growth and future potential.
