The reconstruction of the pond and fountain in the Õismäe pond area has been completed, according to officials. The project, undertaken in the Väike-Õismäe settlement, involved a comprehensive overhaul of the pond and its surrounding park area. Work included cleaning the pond’s mud, local deepening, repairing the shoreline, and extending the inner ring path. A new, programmable fountain with adjustable lighting and water flow was installed, described as one of the largest of its kind in Estonia. Alongside the fountain, the park’s recreation area was upgraded, featuring a path constructed with granite slabs around the outer ring of the forest. Existing park equipment was replaced, and new waste bins and toilet modules were installed. Additionally, Sahhalin cherry trees, gray spruces, and common birch trees were planted, along with areas designed for less frequent mowing featuring flowering plants. A slipway was constructed around the pond. The project culminated in a public opening and demonstration of the fountain on September 10th, accompanied by a concert and fair in the pond area.
