The Estonian Environment Agency has authorized the application of oil to a Greek ship in Ariste Bay, on the island of Saaremaa, to manage the population of cormorants and mitigate potential impacts on fish stocks. The agency has granted permission for up to 40 percent of the cormorants’ nests to be oiled on the ship’s jetty within the bay.
