The Sakala events in Viljandi, Estonia, will feature a variety of cultural and sporting events on Saturday, March 25, 2023. The day’s schedule includes the EVE Cup 2023 figure skating competition at the Sakala ice rink, commencing at 12:00 PM. Simultaneously, a Baltic League handball match will take place at Viljandi sports hall at 2:00 PM, pitting Viljandi HC against SK Tapa/N.R Energy. Throughout the day, performances are scheduled at the Kondase center, Tallinn street 22, including “Mother” and “Sume on the night” at 5:00 PM. Theatrical productions will also be staged, such as “Cardemoni people and robbers” (11:00 AM), “Detective Sun and the curse of the black widow” (11:55 AM), “Cakes, spring and other” (12:55 PM), and “Savvusa sister” (2:00 PM). A memorial service for the victims of repression will be held at 5:00 PM at the Viljandi manor park, led by Allan Praats, pastor of Paul’s congregation. Additionally, exhibitions will be on display at several locations in Viljandi. The Kondase center will host exhibitions by Allar Taela (“Mouth makes a big city, hand doesn’t get dirty”) and Maris Siimeri (“Põhiosa soones”), alongside a sculpture collection. The Viljandi museum, located on Pikk street 8, will feature “Vilhelm Ormisson. Colors and Viljandi” dedicated to the artist’s 130th birthday until March 31st. The Karksi-Nuia cultural center’s blue hall will display “The press photo of Viljandi.” Exhibitions are also planned at Tallinn street 11/11, Art Allmägi gallery and Tartu street 7c, including “Figuràk” by Bàlint Pörneczi and Katrin Piile’s “The best times …”.
